Masters Message

Dear Brothers,

Here we are again, another three months have passed, and it is time for our new Trestleboard. Firstly I would like to wish those of you who haven’t been able to come out to a meeting this year a belated ‘Happy New Year’.

The Lodge has had a busy time since I last wrote you, thankfully the weather has been kind to us, and we have been able to complete our program without any cancellations. In December we raised 5 new Master Masons, and on the 1st February we initiated 6 new Brothers. This ceremony was performed by our Junior Warden in an exemplary manner with the assistance of the Officers of the Lodge, and it was nice to see a couple newly raised Brothers take part in the ceremony.

The Lodge also held it’s annual ‘Breakfast with Santa’ on the 18th December, and it’s  ’Holiday Party’ on the 7th January, my thanks go out to all the Brothers who helped make those events happen.

As you will see from the Trestleboard we have a very busy spring in front of us, and there are a few things happening that I would like to highlight. On the 7th March we will be conferring the 2nd Degree on the 6 new Masons who joined the Lodge in February. This Degree will be conferred by our Senior Warden. The 3rd Degree will be conferred on the 4th April, and I urge all who can, to come out and support our new ‘Brothers’, and the Lodge.

On the 20th April, Wallkill Lodge will be hosting a meeting in Grand Lodge Room at Grand Lodge in New York. We will be hosting a party of Freemasons from the Province of Essex in the U.K. who are coming over to demonstrate the Emulation Ritual of the Third Degree. Details of this meeting can be found in by clicking here.

You will note from the Trestleboard that we will again hold a ‘Public Installation‘ of the new officers, and that this will be on Sunday 3rd June at 2:00 PM.

Finally, as this is the last Trestleboard for this Masonic year, I would be remiss in not thanking all the Officers and the Brothers who have supported us this year. I hope that you have enjoyed it as much as I have.

With best wishes to you all.

Master’s Message – Winter 2011

Brethren,
Welcome to this, your Trestle board for December, January, and February.

Since I last wrote to you in the Autumn, we have had a fairly successful time in the Lodge. Bro. Oscar Alleyne gave a very interesting talk on the Masonic symbolism of the King James Bible, and Bro. James Curry gave an explanation of the Scottish Rite. We were also given an interesting talk on the Robert Livingstone Library by Rt. Wor. Dick Mills.

Our District Deputy’s visit on the 5th. Oct. Went very well, and it was great to see such a large contingent of Past Masters in attendance. My thanks go to them and all the Brothers who came out to support the lodge.

On the 8th. Oct. We held a Coffee House and raised over $2000 for a young lady from Walden who had lost a leg to cancer, and on the 15th. Oct. V.W.Bro, John Cola again held a very successful dinner in support of the Anthony Cola Foundation. Unfortunately the Quiz Night I had planned for the 5th. Nov. had to be cancelled owing to lack of interest.

Our Jun. Warden performed the Entered Apprentice Degree to 5 new Brothers in October, and the Sen. Warden passed them to the degree of Fellowcraft in November. Those of you who were unable to attend will be glad to know that both Degrees were presented in a manner befitting Wallkill Lodge.

On the 16th. Nov. we held a successful demonstration of the ‘English Degree of Initiation’. Over 60 brothers attended including two from the Grand Line, and several from other Lodges in the district, and New Jersey. Those of you who were unable to come out missed a good opportunity to extend your Masonic knowledge.

As to the future. The meetings of your Lodge are listed elsewhere in this Trestle board, but I would like to point out that we are raising our 5 new Brothers on the 7th. Dec., and would urge you all to come out and support not only them, but the Officers and your Lodge. We will be holding our annual ‘Breakfast with Santa’ on the 18th. December from 8.00am until Noon, and on the 7th. Jan we will hold our usual “Holiday Party” at the lodge starting at 7.00pm., come one come all.

As I said in my first Trestle board this is your Lodge and it’s success depends on you. Please come out and join in our meetings. If you want to take part in any of the Degrees, then let us know.

Finally I would like to wish all my Brothers and your families a “Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New year”.

Cheers everyone,

Colin ‘O’
